Runflat Tires
Runflat tires are specially designed tires that allow a vehicle to continue driving even after a puncture or loss of air pressure. They have reinforced sidewalls that support the weight of the vehicle, enabling it to travel for a limited distance—typically up to 50 miles—at reduced speeds, usually around 50 mph. This feature provides drivers with the convenience of reaching a safe location or a repair shop without needing to change a tire immediately.
These tires are commonly used in sports cars, luxury vehicles, and some SUVs to enhance safety and reduce the risk of accidents caused by sudden tire failures. While they offer benefits like improved handling and the elimination of the need for a spare tire, they can be more expensive than traditional tires and may have a stiffer ride quality.
