Run Run Shaw
Run Run Shaw was a prominent Hong Kong film producer and media mogul, known for co-founding the Shaw Brothers Studio. Born on October 6, 1907, he played a crucial role in the development of the Chinese film industry, particularly in the 1950s and 1960s. His studio produced numerous influential films, especially in the martial arts genre, which gained international acclaim.
In addition to his film work, Shaw was a philanthropist and established the Shaw Foundation, which supports education and healthcare initiatives. He was also involved in television, helping to launch TVB, one of the first commercial television stations in Hong Kong. Run Run Shaw passed away on January 7, 2018.
