Rukmini Devi Arundale
Rukmini Devi Arundale was an influential Indian dancer, choreographer, and activist born on February 29, 1904. She is best known for revitalizing the ancient Indian classical dance form of Bharatanatyam, transforming it from a temple art into a respected performance art. Her efforts helped elevate the status of women in the arts and inspired many to pursue classical dance.
