Rubjerg Knude Lighthouse
Rubjerg Knude Lighthouse is a historic lighthouse located on the northwest coast of Denmark. Built in 1899, it stands at 23 meters tall and was originally constructed to guide ships safely along the Skagerrak strait. The lighthouse was operational until 1968 when shifting sands and coastal erosion made it too dangerous for use.
In recent years, the lighthouse has become a popular tourist attraction, drawing visitors to its scenic views and unique location. Efforts have been made to preserve the structure, which is now surrounded by sand dunes and offers insight into the challenges of coastal erosion in the region.
