Rubén Darío
Rubén Darío was a Nicaraguan poet, journalist, and diplomat, born on January 18, 1867. He is best known for his role in the modernist literary movement in Latin America, which sought to break away from traditional forms of poetry. His works often explore themes of love, nature, and the human experience, and he is celebrated for his innovative use of language and rhythm.
Darío's most famous collection, *Azul*, published in 1888, marked a turning point in Spanish literature. He influenced many writers, including Pablo Neruda and Jorge Luis Borges, and is considered one of the most important figures in Spanish-language literature. He passed away on February 6, 1916.
