Rowland Hussey Macy
Rowland Hussey Macy was an American businessman born on August 28, 1822, in Nantucket, Massachusetts. He is best known for founding the department store chain Macy's, which began as a small dry goods store in New York City in 1858. Macy's innovative retail strategies and focus on customer service helped transform the shopping experience in America.
Macy's store became famous for its large selection of goods and festive events, including the annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.
