Romani language
The Romani language is an Indo-Aryan language spoken by the Romani people, a traditionally nomadic ethnic group with roots in northern India. It has various dialects, influenced by the regions where Romani communities reside, including Romanes, Kalderash, and Vlax.
Romani is recognized as a minority language in several European countries, where it is often associated with cultural identity. Despite its rich history, the language faces challenges, including declining speakers and limited official recognition, which threaten its preservation and transmission to future generations.
