Rockford Peaches
The Rockford Peaches were a professional women's baseball team that played in the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League (AAGPBL) from 1943 to 1954. Based in Rockford, Illinois, the team was known for its competitive spirit and skilled players. The Peaches won four league championships during their existence, becoming one of the most successful teams in the league's history.
The AAGPBL was created during World War II to maintain interest in baseball while many male players were serving in the military. The Rockford Peaches gained popularity and were featured in the 1992 film A League of Their Own, which highlighted the contributions of women in sports.
