Rochdale Canal
The Rochdale Canal is a 32-mile-long waterway in northern England, connecting Rochdale to Sowerby Bridge. It was completed in 1804 and played a significant role in the industrial revolution by facilitating the transport of goods and raw materials.
The canal features 91 locks, making it one of the most challenging waterways in the country. It passes through several towns and cities, including Manchester, and is now popular for recreational activities like boating and cycling, as well as providing scenic walking paths along its banks.
