Robert Scot
Robert Scot was an American engraver and coin designer, born in 1745 in Scotland. He is best known for his work as the chief engraver of the United States Mint from 1792 to 1823. Scot played a significant role in creating the designs for early American coins, including the dime and the dollar.
In addition to his work at the Mint, Scot also produced engravings for various publications and created portraits of notable figures. His artistic contributions helped shape the visual identity of early American currency and reflect the nation's values during its formative years.
