Robert Redfield
Robert Redfield is an American physician and public health expert known for his work in infectious diseases. He served as the Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) from 2018 to 2021, where he focused on addressing public health challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic.
Before his role at the CDC, Redfield was a professor at the University of Maryland and co-founded the Institute of Human Virology. He has contributed significantly to research on HIV/AIDS and has held various leadership positions in public health organizations throughout his career.
