Robert Lowry
Robert Lowry was an American Baptist minister and hymn writer, born on March 12, 1826, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is best known for composing several well-loved hymns, including “How Can I Keep from Singing?” and “Nothing but the Blood.” His work has had a lasting impact on Christian music and worship.
In addition to his contributions to hymnody, Lowry served as a pastor in various churches throughout his life. He also held a position as a professor of literature at Bucknell University. His dedication to both ministry and education made him a significant figure in 19th-century American religious life.
