Rituals of Passage
Rituals of passage are ceremonies that mark significant transitions in a person's life, such as birth, adulthood, marriage, and death. These rituals often involve specific customs and practices that vary across cultures, helping individuals and communities acknowledge and celebrate these important changes.
Typically, rituals of passage consist of three stages: separation, transition, and incorporation. During the separation stage, individuals are removed from their previous status. The transition stage often includes challenges or teachings, while the incorporation stage reintegrates them into society with a new identity, such as becoming an adult or a married person.
