Ritual of Saptapadi
The Ritual of Saptapadi is a significant ceremony in Hindu weddings, symbolizing the couple's commitment to each other. It involves seven steps taken together by the bride and groom, each representing a specific vow or promise they make to one another. This ritual is often performed in front of a sacred fire, known as the Agni, which serves as a witness to their union.
During the Saptapadi, the couple walks around the fire seven times, with each round signifying a different aspect of their relationship, such as love, trust, and companionship. This ceremony is an essential part of the marriage process, marking the transition from individuals to a married couple, and is deeply rooted in Hindu traditions and beliefs.
