Right of Way
The "Right of Way" refers to the legal right to pass through property owned by another person. This concept is commonly applied in transportation, where certain vehicles or pedestrians have priority over others at intersections or crosswalks. For example, in many places, vehicles must yield to pedestrians when they are in a crosswalk.
In addition to traffic laws, the Right of Way can also apply to land use, allowing individuals or companies to access a specific route across private property. This is often seen in cases involving utilities or railroads, where access is necessary for maintenance or operation.
