Right Subclavian Artery
The Right Subclavian Artery is a major blood vessel that supplies oxygenated blood to the right arm and parts of the head and neck. It branches off from the Brachiocephalic Trunk, which is itself a branch of the Aortic Arch. This artery runs laterally and posteriorly, passing under the clavicle before continuing into the arm as the Axillary Artery.
In addition to supplying blood to the arm, the Right Subclavian Artery gives off several important branches. These include the Vertebral Artery, which supplies blood to the brain, and the Internal Thoracic Artery, which supplies the chest wall. Understanding its anatomy is crucial for medical professionals, especially in surgeries involving the neck and upper body.
