Richard II, Duke of Normandy
Richard II, Duke of Normandy was born in 933 and became the Duke of Normandy in 996. He was the son of Richard I of Normandy and Gonnor of Crepon. His reign was marked by efforts to strengthen the duchy and maintain its independence from the Kingdom of France.
Richard II is known for his diplomatic skills, particularly in managing relationships with neighboring territories. He was also involved in the early formation of the Norman identity, which would later play a significant role in the history of England, especially during the Norman Conquest in 1066.
