Revolutionary Armed Forces
The Revolutionary Armed Forces, commonly known as the FARC, is a Marxist-Leninist guerrilla group that was founded in Colombia in 1964. Initially formed to fight for the rights of rural workers, the group has been involved in various forms of armed conflict, including kidnappings and drug trafficking, to fund its activities.
In 2016, the FARC signed a peace agreement with the Colombian government, marking a significant step towards ending decades of violence. As part of the agreement, the group transitioned into a political party, aiming to participate in the democratic process and promote social justice within Colombia.
