Rev. John Hale
Rev. John Hale was a minister in the Massachusetts Bay Colony during the late 17th century. He is best known for his involvement in the Salem witch trials, where he initially supported the trials and the prosecution of alleged witches. Hale was a well-educated man, having studied at Harvard College, and he was respected in his community.
As the trials progressed, Hale began to question the validity of the accusations and the methods used to convict the accused. His change of heart led him to advocate for the innocent and criticize the court's proceedings. Ultimately, Hale became a symbol of moral reflection during this dark period in American history.
