Republic of Abkhazia
The Republic of Abkhazia is a region located on the eastern coast of the Black Sea, bordered by Georgia to the south and the Caucasus Mountains to the north. It declared independence from Georgia in 1999, following a conflict in the early 1990s. Although it operates as a self-governing entity, its independence is recognized by only a few countries, while most of the international community considers it part of Georgia.
Abkhazia has a diverse landscape, featuring mountains, forests, and a subtropical coastline. The capital city is Sukhumi, which serves as the political and cultural center of the region. The population is predominantly Abkhaz, with significant Georgian and Russian communities, reflecting the area's complex history and cultural influences.
