Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints
The Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (RLDS), now known as the Community of Christ, was founded in 1860 by followers of Joseph Smith, the original prophet of the Latter Day Saint movement. The church emerged after Smith's death in 1844, with a focus on continuing his teachings and establishing a community based on his principles.
The RLDS emphasizes peace, social justice, and community service, distinguishing itself from other branches of the Latter Day Saint movement, such as the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church). Today, the Community of Christ has a global presence and engages in various humanitarian efforts.
