René Auberjonois was an American actor, director, and voice artist, born on June 1, 1940, in New York City. He was best known for his role as Odo in the television series Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, where he portrayed a shape-shifting security chief. Auberjonois had a diverse career, appearing in film, television, and theater. In addition to his work in Star Trek, Auberjonois appeared in various films, including M*A*S*H and The Patriot. He was also recognized for his stage performances, earning a Tony Award for his role in the Broadway production of Coco. Auberjonois passed away on December 8, 2022.
