Relational Antonyms
Relational antonyms are pairs of words that have opposite meanings but are interdependent, meaning one term cannot exist without the other. For example, the words parent and child are relational antonyms; a parent is defined in relation to their child, and vice versa.
These antonyms often describe a relationship or a role, such as teacher and student or buy and sell. Understanding relational antonyms helps clarify the connections between concepts and enhances vocabulary by illustrating how words can be defined through their relationships with one another.
