Regions of Turkey
Turkey is divided into seven geographical regions, each with its own unique characteristics. The Marmara region, located in the northwest, is the most industrialized and includes major cities like Istanbul and Bursa. The Aegean region is known for its beautiful coastlines and ancient ruins, while the Mediterranean region boasts a warm climate and popular tourist destinations such as Antalya.
The Central Anatolia region is characterized by its vast plains and agricultural activities, with Ankara, the capital city, located here. The Eastern Anatolia region features mountainous terrain and rich cultural heritage, while the Southeastern Anatolia region is known for its diverse history and significant archaeological sites, including Göbekli Tepe.
