Regions of Algeria
Algeria is divided into several distinct regions, each with unique geographical and cultural characteristics. The northern region features the Tell Atlas, a coastal mountain range that includes fertile plains and the Mediterranean coastline. This area is known for its agriculture and urban centers like Algiers, the capital city.
In contrast, the southern region is dominated by the vast Sahara Desert, which covers more than four-fifths of the country. This arid landscape is home to various oases and nomadic tribes, showcasing a rich cultural heritage. The Hoggar Mountains and Ahaggar National Park are notable features in this region, attracting tourists and researchers alike.
