Redwing
Redwing is a type of bird known for its distinctive red shoulder patches. It belongs to the family Icteridae and is commonly found in North America, especially in wetlands and grasslands. The male redwing is easily recognizable by its bright red and yellow markings, while the female is more subdued in color, featuring brown and streaked plumage.
These birds are often seen in flocks and are known for their melodious calls. Redwings primarily feed on insects, seeds, and berries. They are also known for their migratory behavior, traveling south during the winter months to find warmer climates, often returning to their breeding grounds in the spring.
