Red-eyed Vireo
The Red-eyed Vireo is a small songbird found primarily in North America. It is easily recognized by its olive-green back, white underparts, and distinctive red eyes. These birds are often seen in deciduous forests and are known for their persistent singing, which can be heard throughout the day during the breeding season.
Red-eyed Vireos are insectivorous, feeding on a diet that includes insects, caterpillars, and berries. They build cup-shaped nests in trees, typically at a height of 3 to 10 feet. Their population is stable, and they migrate to Central and South America during the winter months, returning to their breeding grounds in spring.
