Red Wing Blackbirds
The Red-winged Blackbird is a medium-sized songbird native to North America. Males are easily recognized by their glossy black feathers and bright red and yellow shoulder patches, while females are brown and streaked, providing excellent camouflage. These birds are commonly found in wetlands, marshes, and fields, where they build their nests in dense vegetation.
Red-winged Blackbirds are known for their distinctive calls, which can be heard during the breeding season. They are social birds, often seen in large flocks, and are known to be aggressive in defending their nesting territories from intruders, including other birds and animals.
