Red Spot
The Red Spot is a giant storm located on the planet Jupiter. It is an enormous, persistent anticyclonic storm, measuring about 1.3 times the diameter of Earth. This storm has been observed for over 350 years, making it one of the longest-lasting weather phenomena in the solar system.
The Red Spot appears reddish in color due to complex chemical reactions in Jupiter's atmosphere. Winds within the storm can reach speeds of up to 432 kilometers per hour (268 miles per hour). Scientists study the Red Spot to better understand the dynamics of planetary atmospheres and storm systems.
