Read Across America
Read Across America is an annual reading motivation and awareness program that encourages children to read. Established by the National Education Association (NEA) in 1998, it takes place on or around Dr. Seuss's birthday, March 2. The initiative aims to promote literacy and a love for reading among young students across the United States.
Schools, libraries, and communities participate by hosting events, reading activities, and book fairs. The program highlights the importance of reading in a child's development and encourages families to engage in reading together. Through various activities, Read Across America fosters a lifelong appreciation for literature.
