Reactive Arthritis is a type of inflammatory arthritis that occurs as a reaction to an infection in another part of the body, often the genitourinary or gastrointestinal systems. It typically develops after a bacterial infection, such as chlamydia or salmonella, and can cause joint pain, swelling, and stiffness, usually affecting the knees, ankles, and feet.
The condition is more common in young adults and may also involve symptoms like eye inflammation and urinary issues. While it can resolve on its own, treatment often includes nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) to relieve pain and inflammation.
