Ray Kroc
Ray Kroc was an American businessman best known for expanding the McDonald's fast-food chain. Born on October 5, 1902, he initially worked as a milkshake machine salesman before discovering a small restaurant run by the McDonald brothers in California. Impressed by their efficient service, he saw the potential for a nationwide franchise.
In 1955, Kroc opened the first McDonald's franchise in Des Plaines, Illinois, and began to develop the brand into a global phenomenon. His focus on consistency, quality, and speed revolutionized the fast-food industry, making McDonald's one of the most recognizable brands in the world. Kroc passed away on January 14, 1984.
