Rat Snakes
Rat snakes are non-venomous constrictor snakes found primarily in North America and parts of Asia. They are known for their ability to control rodent populations, making them beneficial for agriculture. Rat snakes can vary in color, including black, gray, and yellow, and they typically grow between 4 to 8 feet in length.
These snakes are excellent climbers and often inhabit forests, fields, and even urban areas. They are primarily nocturnal and feed on small mammals, birds, and eggs. Rat snakes are generally shy and prefer to avoid human contact, making them a valuable part of their ecosystems.
