Rassemblement Pour La République
The "Rassemblement Pour La République" (RPR) was a French political party founded in 1976 by Jacques Chirac. It aimed to unite various factions of the political right in France, promoting conservative values and policies. The party played a significant role in French politics during the 1980s and 1990s, particularly in supporting Chirac's presidential campaigns.
In 2002, the RPR was dissolved and transformed into the Union for a Popular Movement (UMP), which continued to represent the center-right in France. The RPR's legacy includes its influence on shaping modern conservative politics and its contributions to the political landscape during its active years.
