Ranginui
Ranginui, also known as Rangi, is the personification of the sky in Māori mythology. He is often depicted as the father of many gods and is considered a vital figure in the creation stories of the Māori people. Ranginui is typically described as being in a close embrace with Papatuanuku, the earth mother, creating a world filled with life.
In the Māori creation narrative, Ranginui and Papatuanuku's separation is a significant event. Their children, the gods, sought to create space for themselves and the world. This separation allowed light and life to flourish, marking the beginning of the world as known in Māori culture.
