Rangefinder Camera
A rangefinder camera is a type of camera that uses a rangefinder mechanism to help the photographer focus. This system typically involves two images that overlap in the viewfinder; when they align, the subject is in focus. Rangefinder cameras are known for their compact size and quiet operation, making them popular among street photographers.
Unlike DSLRs, rangefinder cameras do not have a mirror mechanism, which allows for a more lightweight design. They often feature manual controls, giving photographers greater creative freedom. Many classic models, such as those made by Leica, are highly regarded for their build quality and optical performance.
