Rajah Humabon
Rajah Humabon was a prominent leader of the island of Cebu in the Philippines during the early 16th century. He is best known for his encounter with the Spanish explorer Ferdinand Magellan in 1521, which marked the first contact between Europeans and the native inhabitants of the Philippines. Humabon welcomed Magellan and his crew, leading to the introduction of Christianity to the region.
As a result of this encounter, Humabon and many of his subjects were baptized into the Catholic faith. However, his alliance with the Spanish was short-lived, as conflicts arose with other local leaders, notably Lapu-Lapu, who resisted foreign influence.
