Race Across America
Race Across America (RAAM) is an annual ultra-distance cycling race that spans approximately 3,000 miles across the United States. Unlike traditional races, it is a time trial where cyclists compete individually or in teams, starting from Oceanside, California and finishing in Annapolis, Maryland. Participants must complete the course within a set time limit, typically around 12 days.
The race is known for its challenging terrain, which includes mountains, deserts, and varying weather conditions. Cyclists must be self-sufficient, managing their own supplies and support crews while navigating through diverse landscapes and numerous checkpoints along the route.
