Rabun Dam
Rabun Dam is a concrete gravity dam located on the Tallulah River in Rabun County, Georgia. Completed in 1915, it was built primarily for hydroelectric power generation and flood control. The dam creates Lake Rabun, a popular recreational area known for fishing, boating, and camping.
The dam stands approximately 100 feet tall and spans about 1,200 feet across. It plays a crucial role in managing water flow in the region, helping to maintain the ecological balance of the Tallulah River and supporting local wildlife.
