Rabbi Chaim Soloveitchik
Rabbi Chaim Soloveitchik (1786–1861) was a prominent Jewish scholar and a key figure in the development of Modern Orthodox Judaism. He was born in Slutsk, in present-day Belarus, and became known for his innovative approach to Talmudic study. His analytical methods laid the groundwork for the Brisker method, which emphasizes rigorous logical reasoning in understanding Jewish texts.
Rabbi Soloveitchik was the head of the Slutsk Yeshiva and influenced many students, including his descendants, who continued his legacy. His teachings focused on the importance of both Torah study and practical Halacha, shaping the way Jewish law is interpreted and applied in contemporary life.
