Raakhee
Raakhee is a traditional Indian festival celebrated primarily in the northern and western regions of India. It honors the bond between brothers and sisters, where sisters tie a sacred thread, called rakhi, around their brothers' wrists. This act symbolizes protection and love, while brothers, in return, promise to safeguard their sisters.
The festival usually falls in August during the full moon of the Hindu month of Shravana. Families come together to celebrate with sweets, gifts, and prayers. Raakhee not only strengthens familial ties but also promotes the spirit of love and unity among siblings.
