RNA biology
RNA biology is the study of ribonucleic acid (RNA), a crucial molecule in all living cells. RNA plays several roles, including serving as a messenger that carries genetic information from DNA to the cellular machinery that makes proteins. This process is essential for the functioning and regulation of genes.
In addition to its role in protein synthesis, RNA also has other functions, such as catalyzing biochemical reactions and regulating gene expression. Different types of RNA, including messenger RNA (mRNA), transfer RNA (tRNA), and ribosomal RNA (rRNA), work together to ensure that cells can produce the proteins necessary for life.
