RFA
RFA, or Radiofrequency Ablation, is a medical procedure that uses heat generated by radio waves to destroy abnormal tissue. It is commonly used to treat various conditions, including certain types of cancer, chronic pain, and cardiac arrhythmias. The procedure is minimally invasive, often performed under local anesthesia, and can be done in an outpatient setting.
During RFA, a thin needle or catheter is inserted into the targeted area, guided by imaging techniques such as ultrasound or CT scans. The radiofrequency energy heats the tissue, causing it to shrink or die, which can help alleviate symptoms and improve patient outcomes.
