Queen Satyavati
Queen Satyavati is a significant character in the ancient Indian epic, the Mahabharata. She was the daughter of a fisherman and became the queen of King Shantanu. Known for her wisdom and strength, Satyavati played a crucial role in the lineage of the Kuru dynasty.
Satyavati is also famous for her unique backstory; she was born with a fishy smell due to her upbringing. Her marriage to Shantanu led to the birth of two sons, Chitrangada and Vichitravirya. After their untimely deaths, she facilitated the continuation of the royal line through the practice of Niyoga, leading to the birth of Dhritarashtra and Pandu.
