Queen Ketevan
Queen Ketevan was a prominent figure in the 17th century, known for her role as the queen consort of King Teimuraz I of Imereti, a region in present-day Georgia. She was born in 1565 and became a symbol of resistance against foreign invasions, particularly during the conflicts involving the Persian Empire.
Her legacy is marked by her deep Christian faith and her efforts to promote Christianity in Georgia. Queen Ketevan was captured by the Shah Abbas I of Persia and ultimately martyred in 1624. She is venerated as a saint in the Georgian Orthodox Church, celebrated for her courage and devotion.
