Queen Isabel of Portugal
Queen Isabel of Portugal, also known as Isabel of Aragon, was born in 1271 and became the queen consort of King Dinis of Portugal. She was known for her piety and charitable works, earning her the title of "The Holy Queen." Isabel played a significant role in promoting peace and stability in Portugal during her husband's reign.
Isabel is also remembered for her efforts in the Portuguese Crown's agricultural reforms and her support for the poor. After her death in 1336, she was canonized by the Catholic Church in 1625, and her feast day is celebrated on July 4.
