Queen Eleanor of Aragon
Queen Eleanor of Aragon (c. 1450–1492) was a Spanish noblewoman and the daughter of John II of Aragon and Juana Enríquez. She became the queen consort of Ferdinand II of Aragon after their marriage in 1469, which helped to strengthen the political alliance between Aragon and Castile.
Eleanor played a significant role in the unification of Spain, supporting her husband in his efforts to consolidate power. She was also the mother of several important figures, including Isabella I of Castile, who would later become a key player in the unification of Spain and the sponsorship of Christopher Columbus.
