Queen's Rangers
The Queen's Rangers were a military unit formed during the American Revolutionary War. Established in 1776, they were primarily composed of loyalists and skilled frontiersmen. Their main role was to conduct reconnaissance, gather intelligence, and engage in skirmishes against American forces. The unit was known for its effective use of guerrilla tactics and adaptability in various terrains.
Led by Colonel John Graves Simcoe, the Queen's Rangers played a significant role in several key battles, including the capture of New York City. They were recognized for their distinctive green uniforms and their ability to operate independently, making them a valuable asset to the British Army during the conflict.
