Queen's Own Highlanders
The Queen's Own Highlanders was a Scottish infantry regiment of the British Army, formed in 1961 through the amalgamation of the Seaforth Highlanders and the Gordon Highlanders. The regiment was known for its distinctive tartan uniforms and played a significant role in various conflicts, including World War II and peacekeeping missions.
In 1994, the Queen's Own Highlanders was merged with the Loyal Regiment to create the Highland Regiment. The regiment's heritage is celebrated through its connection to the Scottish Highlands and its contributions to military history, maintaining a strong sense of identity and tradition among its members.
