Quabbin Reservoir
The Quabbin Reservoir is a large water supply reservoir located in central Massachusetts. It was created in the 1930s by damming the Swift River to provide drinking water for the city of Boston and surrounding communities. The reservoir covers approximately 39 square miles and holds about 412 billion gallons of water.
